Today Quinten starts his postgraduate internship at Brainial. Working from home is not quite the start we all had in mind two months ago but we make online video meetings a fun place. Luckily a few weeks ago, Quinten worked some days at our office before his official start today. One of the benefits of having an office on the University campus is that it makes it very easy for students to get acquainted and drop in.
The postgraduate internship is part of his Master studies Data Driven Design at the HU University of Applied Science Utrecht. This Master program is a combination of data science, data driven businesses and design thinking. Prior to this Master study, Quinten successfully completed a Minor in Big Data and obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management at the HU University of Applied Science Utrecht.
His internship study will answer the following research question:
“How to extract and model the topics around companies to support sales executives with conversation starters with sector research and mapping?”
This study will look at technical developments in the field of information collecting on the internet and whether this can possibly improve the communication skills of a sales executive. One of the most promising technological developments in the field of information collection is NLP (Natural Language Processing), which is commonly used within Brainial.
We are happy to have Quinten on board. Some fun facts; Quinten worked as a student sales consultant and tour guide specialized in eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. He also was participant and jury elected winner of the Utrecht Mobility Challenge 2019. Welcome to the team Quinten!
