We are happy to announce that Floris Kappen recently joined Brainial in a part-time role as a software engineer. Floris is currently studying HBO-ICT at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. He previously worked part-time as a full-stack web developer at Gravity, a digital agency. Floris’ work has shifted more towards the back-end throughout his entire career. He started off as an aspiring web designer. After that he taught himself front-end web development. Soon after followed by the back-end. His interest lies in software engineering, specifically working with data and applying machine learning models to gain all sorts of insights.
The project Floris will work on correlates with his interests, as it involves data collection, standardisation and combination from multiple sources. The end goal being to build natural language processing models to gain all sorts of insights and help our customers.
Floris is mostly self-taught. He has always sought out his own educational content, allowing him to learn at a fast pace while not being limited by the material taught at school. He also loves to go to concerts, travel and do all sorts of creative activities like writing music, photography and occasionally game development.
